Welcome to TerrainMaker. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Aztec Platforms ("we", "us", "our") covering your use of TerrainMaker (the "Service"), including the website, editor, and any models or files you create or export with it. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
You sign in through Supabase, either with an email and password or with "Continue with Google". You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. We are not liable for losses caused by someone else using your account with or without your knowledge.
TerrainMaker turns real-world map and elevation data into 3D-printable models. The models, prints, and files you generate are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may use them for your own projects, 3D printing for yourself, education, gifts, and other non-commercial purposes.
You may not:
We may offer commercial licensing in the future. If you are interested in commercial licensing, please reach out via the contact form.
TerrainMaker builds models from third-party geographic data, including data provided through MapTiler and its upstream sources. That underlying data is owned by its respective providers and is subject to their terms. Your personal-use rights under Section 3 cover the models you create with the Service; they do not grant you any separate rights to the raw source data.
You agree not to:
Some features may require payment. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details. Prices, and what each purchase includes, are shown at the point of purchase. Unless stated otherwise at checkout or required by law, payments are non-refundable. If we offer a purchase that renews, we will make the renewal terms clear before you buy.
You keep ownership of the projects and models you create. By using the Service, you grant us the limited permission we need to store, process, and display your content so we can operate the Service for you, for example saving your projects and rendering previews.
The Service itself, including the TerrainMaker software, branding, logo, and the way it generates and presents models, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you any rights to our software or brand beyond using the Service as intended.
Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short, we store your saved maps and account email, we process payments through Stripe and never store card details, and we collect anonymized usage analytics, export analytics, and error reports to run and improve the Service. Please review the Privacy Policy for the full picture.
We work to keep the Service running, but we provide it on an "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may pause or discontinue parts of the Service, at any time. We are not liable to you for any change to, suspension of, or discontinuation of the Service.
TerrainMaker is under continuous development. We regularly ship new features, improvements, and technical upgrades. To keep your saved projects working with newer versions of the app, we sometimes need to migrate the files behind them into updated formats.
We take care to make these migrations safe and non-destructive. However, saved projects are complex data, and we cannot guarantee that every project will remain fully loadable, editable, or unchanged across every update. In some cases an update or migration may cause a saved project to fail to load, lose data, render or export differently than before, or become unusable.
You are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important. If a project matters to you, export and save it locally so you always have a copy that does not depend on the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, corruption, change, or unavailability of your saved projects, files, or data, including any caused by app updates, format migrations, or technical changes to the Service. Saving and storing projects with the Service is at your own risk.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the map data, elevations, or generated models are accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular use, including engineering, navigation, safety, or survey purposes. You are responsible for reviewing your models before printing or relying on them.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including the personal, non-commercial use requirement in Section 3, or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or others. Sections that by their nature should survive termination, such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability, will continue to apply.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be handled in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington.
