Privacy & Data Usage

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This explains what data TerrainMaker collects, what we store, and what we never touch.

Authentication

Supabase securely manages our authentication, email, and password information. You can sign in with an email and password, or with Continue with Google, which uses Supabase OAuth. Learn more about Supabase Authentication.

Data we collect and store

  • Your saved maps and projects (stored with Supabase)
  • Your account email (managed by Supabase authentication)
  • Export analytics (settings, outcomes, and model statistics, used to analyze and improve the platform)
  • Error reports (captured automatically when something goes wrong: error codes, app settings, and browser or OS type, used to fix bugs)
  • Anonymized product usage analytics through Vercel Analytics

Your saved projects

We store your projects so you can return to them. Because we improve the app continuously, projects sometimes need to be migrated to newer formats, and in rare cases an update or migration can affect a project's data or usability. Keep your own exported copies of anything important. See our Terms of Service for details.

Map and elevation data

TerrainMaker fetches map and elevation tiles from MapTiler, a third-party map data provider, to build your models. That data belongs to its providers and is subject to their terms.

Data we do not store

  • Payment details (managed by Stripe)
  • Passwords (managed by Supabase)
